We are consciously freed from our prehistoric selves by the languages we
have built over 250 millennia. Without them,
we are just another primate – with a remarkably large brain.
To be requires both the tools to express oneself and the ability to use
those tools effectively. Without honing
one’s ability to think, one is unable to think clearly and concisely. Without freedom to think one cannot hone one’s
ability, and one cannot express oneself clearly and concisely. Without freedom to express, one cannot fully
explore and share one’s state of mind with others, and vice versa…
If one cannot express oneself, what is unspeakable can become
unspeakable, inexpressible inconceivable, unacceptable simply incomprehensible:
one is not blind but simply cannot see. Without being
embedded in free expression, it is impossible to achieve a truly happy and
healthy society…
The core of happiness and fulfilment is interacting, experiencing,
helping and learning: it is only through having a healthy framework for
thinking, exploring and sharing thoughts to and beyond their limits that such
happiness and fulfilment may be achieved…
